| The
beauty of the large building (the baronile palace) is well known to all.
It occupies a large part of S.
Mango Cilento, the controversial large area of which is also a result
of the partial restoration which was carried out without taking into
account the laws inforce in the whole country for the protection and
conservation of the historical, cultural and art centres. This emphasises
negligence on the part of the local government.
In spite of the fact that it concerns private property, the council
has in fact made arrangements, using contribution fonds to
have the complete area surrounding the palace cleared of the
vegetation which has grown during the decades when the plot of land was
abandoned and neglected.
Why
are certain properties which are abandoned and neglected not disowned for
the good of the public? Why does the administrative council making use of
the act of dispossession withdraw the land from those who look after it, cultivating it for
themselves and their families, to build a parking lot?
